PPRS is pleased to recognize Abigail Yarrison as the 2023 winner of its $1,000 scholarship for academic excellence, experience, leadership and character. A rising senior at Immaculata University in East Whiteland Township, Pennsylvania, Yarrison majors in digital communications with a concentration in design as well as minors in graphic arts and art history.
During her tenure at Immaculata, Yarrison has served as editor-in-chief of the Immaculatan Newspaper as well as president of Catholic Relief Services on campus. In addition, she has also participated in the IU Dance Company and held two minor roles in theatre productions, An Honors Program member, Yarrison has achieved Dean’s List every semester of her university career.
Off campus, Yarrison recently completed an internship with Studio Lyn, a design studio in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Previously, she interned with the university communications department, and had the opportunity to design a spread for the winter edition of the Immaculata University Magazine. She also published articles for the online university news webpage. In addition, Yarrison works at Villa Maria House of Studies.
According to Michaella Currie, creative director for Immaculata University Communications & Marketing, Yarrison “stands as a role-model of the best of what the next generation of public relations and communications professionals has to offer in this field.”
