PPRS and Central PA PRSA are pleased to recognize Anna Malinowski as the 2023 winner of the $1,000 Kenneth G. Robinson Memorial Scholarship. A rising sophomore at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, Malinowski is pursuing majors in public relations and in public service and global affairs with a minor in innovation and creativity.
During her short tenure at Gannon, Malinowski has volunteered in a local politician’s campaign and become an active member of the Civic Engagement Club, which aims to foster bipartisan dialogue and increase voter turnout among Gannon’s students. In addition, she serves as social media coordinator for Gannon’s Model United Nations. Together with a classmate, she also re-ignited Gannon’s previously dormant Advertising, Communications and Public Relations Club. She also completed an on-campus internship with Gannon’s School of Public Service and Global Affairs, creating promotional materials to encourage student engagement. Malinowski is a member of Gannon University’s Honors Program.
Off-campus, Malinowski recently completed a second internship, this time with Our West Bayfront, a local community organization whose mission is to improve housing quality, enhance public spaces, and create community events in Erie’s West Bayfront neighborhoods. Through this internship experience, she has gained insight into how local nonprofit organizations can empower people and encourage home ownership, fueling her growing passion to bring people together toward a common goal.
According to Anne M. O’Neill, professor and director of Gannon’s Advertising and Communications and Public Relations programs, “Anna is truly a leader. I’m expecting great things from her and I’m looking forward to seeing where her hard work and creative thinking will take her.”
Congratulations to Anna Malinowski on achieving this honor. Her future certainly looks bright!
